The Making of a Pen

Step 1 of Making of a pen

1. Select an appropriate piece of wood that's
approximately 1"x1"x5 ½" long.

 Step 2 of Making of a pen

2. The wood has to be cut to approximate length of
brass tubes that will be inserted in Step 4.

3. Drill appropriate size hole for brass tube
to be inserted into the hole.

4. Glue is applied to brass tubes to be inserted into blanks.

5. Clean and trim the brass tube.

6. Wood blanks are mounted on lathe.

7. Wood is roughly turned to approximate size.

8. Wood is turned to its final size.

9. Wood is sanded up to 12,000 grit.

10. Four coats of finish is applied to wooden pen blanks.

11. Shows a finished pen blank on lathe before putting together.

12. Shows appropriate parts needed to put pen together.

14. The final product. The pen is complete and ready to use.
